This stunning vintage frazada was handmade by artisans in the highlands of Cusco, surrounding Chinhero Peru. Traditional frazadas like this one are colored with natural plant dyes and are woven, over the course of 1-3 months, on a backstrap loom. They are made in 2 narrow panels that are then stitched together to form the frazada. All natural, made with sheep's and alpaca wool, they are thick and  made for warmth and durability in order to protect from the chill of the Andes.

Each one is unique and  reflective of its maker/weaver. This is a thick weighted one. Tones like these are rare finds in frazadas. Plus each side is different: One side is magenta on White and the other is White on Magenta-- for 2 looks. All rimmed in a gorgeous aquamarine.

Measures approximately 59.5 inches x 67.75 inches

As with all handmade vintage items, there are sometimes "imperfections". These are what make them special, beautiful and real. Truly one of a kind. This particular frazada has one panel that is 3 inches longer than the other panel. The shorter panel is 66 inches long.

    Care Instructions:

    • Drycleaning is recommended.
    • Overall, frazadas are hardy and need little care.
